We served cookies and cupcakes along with snow cones and cotton candy, a huge hit among the kids. The dance was Nothin but a hound dog by Elvis. Girls had a great time over 87 countries represented at the school and 57 showed there pride this year. These ladies did a great job oranizing

Ah yes the Canadian booth. Not sure what the skeleton was all about. FYI there dance was a hockey game at mid field. They served maple cookies.

This was my favorite one they served iced coffee and had the best desserts.

Jamestown walking tour

The Jamestown walking tour all starts here.   The oldest and poorest, area of Accra is also one of the most alive. Jamestown is vibrant, smelly and noisy. Low corrugated roofs stand over painted shops, shacks and houses. Wandering chickens negotiate open drains and life endangering potholes, while courtyards play host to spontaneous football (soccer) games.

Boxing in Accra is a serious business and there are more than 20 boxing schools here. There is no other area in the world with this quantity of boxing school and there is no other place in the world that has produced so many world champions in the last 75 years.

Walking through the London Market. Mark got a pic with one of the market ladies

No words can explain. This is just on the other side of the market.

Local kids love having there picture taken. Jen Yost had a polaroid camera took pics of the kids and gave it to them. They thought that was awesome.

A bunch of boys playing Saturday soccer at a local community center

Here we are at the Pier in Jamestown. This is where the locals fish and then go to market with there catch. They fish 6 out of 7 days a week. Tuesday is the non fishing day so they can go and participate in local activities. This area is almost fished out so they are finding it tough. They need bigger boats to go out further and  more nets as the waters are deeper.

Catch of the day

This was a great tour. It opens your eyes up to how the common folk live and the massive infrastructure problems they are facing with the lack of proper sewer and running water systems.
